Celebrating Angela's 12th Cancerversary!

July 30th is a big day at Family Dog Rescue, as it is founder Angela Padilla's 12th Cancerversary! That's right - today marks 12 years of surviving breast cancer, and it also marks the start of 2014's Cancerversary campaign! Angela credits her dogs'  unconditional love for helping her survive and get through her treatments, and served as the inspiration to start Family Dog Rescue

Every July we celebrate Angela's survival by fundraising to pay off our vet bills from the first half of the year. This year our goal is $12,000 - every dollar of which will be MATCHED by Angela's family and friends! That's right - if we reach our $12,000 we will have a total of $24,000, w hich will help pay off our vet bills so far this year!

Please click the HERE to learn more and to donate! And remember: Every single penny you donate will go towards things like medication, spay and neuter surgeries, and other types of medical treatment. We can't do it without your help!

Remembering Jennifer Mieuli Jameson

On May 19th, 2014, the rescue community lost a wonderful friend: Jennifer Mieuli Jameson, founder of Loup Garou Animal Rescue.

The Board of Directors of Northern California Family Dog Rescue lovingly announced today, May 21st, 2014, the establishment of The Jennifer Mieuli Jameson Memorial Fund. All funds donated to this Fund will be dedicated to the mission of Loup Garou Animal Rescue, the organization founded by Jennifer to rescue and re-home black and dark-coated dogs and cats. In January 2014, Loup Garou merged into Northern California Family Dog Rescue. Loup Garou continues to carry out its mission under the auspices of Family Dog Rescue.

Our dear friend and colleague Jennifer Mieuli Jameson was a true force of nature. She was passionate about so many things, most especially animal welfare and rescuing "underdogs." Appointed by the Board of Supervisors to San Francisco's Commission on Animal Control and Welfare in 2013, Jennifer was an articulate and fierce advocate for our City's animals. Jennifer was a skilled negotiator, a great listener, and a natural consensus-builder. Her brilliant smile and edgy sense of humor always brought light to every endeavor she touched.

We can think of no better way to honor and remember our dear friend than by ensuring the ongoing success of her beloved Loup Garou. Memorial donations can be made by clicking HERE. A dedication of a permanent space at the Family Dog Rescue shelter named in honor of Jennifer will take place this summer.

Everyone is invited to join in the work of Loup Garou. Please contact Angela at  for more information.
